The Mavens

Three of Canada’s most revered songwriters, living from coast to coast, are bringing together their songs and stories as THE MAVENS. Among them, Lynn Miles, Susan Crowe, and Shari Ulrich bring more than 120 years of singing, songwriting, and performance experience to the stage—along with a genuine joy in each other’s company.

“We hope that you join us during this incredible time of our lives… these gals are great to play with and I could not be happier to be spending time with them,” says Susan Crowe, double Juno nominee and Canadian Folk Music Award Songwriter of the Year winner.

“Proud to be in the Mavens, come say hi!,” enthuses Juno and CFMA winner Lynn Miles.

“When I was out in Nova Scotia in the summertime, Susan Crowe and I talked about how much fun it would be to do a trio with Lynn Miles… they are crazy-ass, funny women and I have so much respect for them and for their songwriting… I am so looking forward to this,” says Juno winner, CFMA winner and member of the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame Shari Ulrich, from her home on Bowen Island, BC.

The Mavens will play soft-seat venues around the Maritimes in late May and early June this year, hitting our stage in April before they embark on their tour. Audiences can look forward to the kind of easy stage banter that arises among friends, along with devastating songs that cut to the heart of what it is to be human, interspersed with stories that illuminate the lighter side of the human condition.
