About the event

Arabesque was formed in 2016 when a group of friends decided to get together and enjoy their passion for music. Dani, Yasser, Khalil, George, Abdallah and Nadim are all from Syria. They arrived in Canada between 2011 and 2015. While they didn’t know one another in Syria, they quickly became cherished friends in Canada. Dani Najjar, who leads the band, is also the Choir Director at St. Paul’s Syriac Church in Ottawa. Staying true to their roots, Arabesque performs traditional songs at special events around town and they are now branching out to concert venues starting with Harmony Concerts in Ottawa.

On December 12, 2018 Arabesque will perform along with other Ottawa musicians. Harmony Concerts is delighted to present Arabesque’s inaugural solo performance celebrating Syrian music and culture on January 12, 2019.
