About Harmony Concerts
Harmony Concerts put on its first concert in May 2018 with the local music program Orkidstra. This began a concert series based on celebrating excellence, innovation, and diversity in Ottawa and surrounding area. Since the very start, Harmony has focused on bringing the best Canadian talent to Ottawa, while at the same time promoting and supporting new and emerging artists. Harmony Concerts are not bound by genre; our sound is eclectic and unique.
Harmony brings performances to the lesser-known venues of the Ottawa and the surrounding area, including St. Barnabas Anglican Church, St. Brigid’s Performing Arts Centre, Dominion-Chalmers United Church, Almonte Town Hall, and Beechwood Cemetery.
Harmony Concerts has partnered with StoneCropAcres Winery and Vineyard in Morrisburg, Ontario to offer a 'Concerts at the Winery' series. A diverse lineup of performers including many from the Seaway Valley. 2019 will also be the Inaugural Seaway Valley Folk Music Festival hosted by the Winery and produced by us.
Since our inaugural event with Orkidstra, giving back to the Ottawa community and prioritizing opportunities for emerging artists have been central to Harmony Concert mandate. To show our appreciation for the many Indigenous artists who have performed with us, Harmony Concerts is invested in supporting and nurturing talent among Indigenous people as part of our ongoing commitment to reconciliation and healing. This year, we will present FOUR bursaries of $500 to First Nation, Inuit, and/or Métis people over the age of 14 who are pursuing instrumental, vocal, performance, visual or other art-focused studies or entrepreneurship.
